ELECTRICAL ENGINEER, E.I.T.

Key Responsibilities

An Electrical Engineer, E.I.T. shall develop the ability to produce comprehensive facility electrical designs while assisting the project engineer and, at a minimum, have the following capabilities:

  • Understand advanced electrical theory/calculations, electrical system components and devices.
  • Have the ability to comprehend and implement inputs and direction from the project engineer.
  • Apply Revit, AutoCAD, photometric, word processing/spreadsheet and other basic software to support project designs.
  • Quickly develop knowledge of codes, standards, and best practices and the ability to apply them within the electrical design.
  • Be able to develop and draft power, lighting and fire alarm plans, single line/riser diagrams, panel and light fixture schedules.
  • Develop the understanding of the components of the mechanical, plumbing and fire protection systems that will require power and be able to coordinate those discipline requirements into the electrical design.
  • Attend internal and client coordination meetings with senior staff.
  • Apply general engineering principles to develop problem solving abilities and technical expertise.
  • Learn the basics of project management and project budgets.
  • Expectation of technical and management growth to assume a more responsible role.
  • Take personal ownership of the work produced.

Qualifications to Consider for Role

  • Bachelor’s degree and E.I.T. exam passed (required), military training, field experience, proven relevant technical experience.
  • Experience working in a professional A/E office, Consulting Firm, Construction Contractor, or equivalent.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, photometric, word processing/spreadsheet and other basic software.
  • Strong written, verbal and communication skills with the ability to participate in a collaborative team environment.
