ELECTRICAL ENGINEER, E.I.T.
Key Responsibilities
An Electrical Engineer, E.I.T. shall develop the ability to produce comprehensive facility electrical designs while assisting the project engineer and, at a minimum, have the following capabilities:
- Understand advanced electrical theory/calculations, electrical system components and devices.
- Have the ability to comprehend and implement inputs and direction from the project engineer.
- Apply Revit, AutoCAD, photometric, word processing/spreadsheet and other basic software to support project designs.
- Quickly develop knowledge of codes, standards, and best practices and the ability to apply them within the electrical design.
- Be able to develop and draft power, lighting and fire alarm plans, single line/riser diagrams, panel and light fixture schedules.
- Develop the understanding of the components of the mechanical, plumbing and fire protection systems that will require power and be able to coordinate those discipline requirements into the electrical design.
- Attend internal and client coordination meetings with senior staff.
- Apply general engineering principles to develop problem solving abilities and technical expertise.
- Learn the basics of project management and project budgets.
- Expectation of technical and management growth to assume a more responsible role.
- Take personal ownership of the work produced.
Qualifications to Consider for Role
- Bachelor’s degree and E.I.T. exam passed (required), military training, field experience, proven relevant technical experience.
- Experience working in a professional A/E office, Consulting Firm, Construction Contractor, or equivalent.
- Ability to travel.
- Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, photometric, word processing/spreadsheet and other basic software.
- Strong written, verbal and communication skills with the ability to participate in a collaborative team environment.
